Dropline gnome
 

Hi,

I am running slack 10.0 and would like to try dropline gnome. The only thing is that on the dropline website they say that to run their version of dropline you need slackware 10.2, they also say that previous version of dropline are available for older version of slack but can't find them anywhere in the download page....

Anyone knows where it's possible to get them????

The dlg site is not responding from here. Have you considered upgrading to slack 10.2 and installing the latest dlg. I think it is a great improvement on earlier versions of Gnome.

I would highly advise that you install Slackware 10.2. There are many security updates (very important), bugfixes, and feature enhancements that you will gain by using Slackware 10.2 along with the latest Dropline GNOME 2.14.2 release.

Slackware 10.0 is really old (early 2004). You probably won't find a dropline release for that anymore. I believe that I've removed them from the sf.net project page. Our first real from-scrath release (after acquiring the project from the original maintainer) was 2.10.0. It's designed for Slackware 10.1. I still would suggest that you install Slackware 10.2 instead and use newer (and better) software.

Well the thing is I am on dial up so it's not that easy if you see what I mean, I mean I could always ask some friends... The other thing is, is it possible to update the distribution from what I have or would I have to make a fresh install???

Upgrade instructions are included with the 10.2 installation CD.

There are many sites where you can buy Slackware 10.2 CDs for a few bucks.
