"Downgrading" to 11.0 with slapt-get
 

I am currently running -current, and practically everyday since the 1 October release of 11.0 I have continued to check for updates and upgrades to -current. As we all know, -current right now is under a lot of revision and there haven't been any upgrades to it since the 11.0 release. So, in terms of security updates and upgrades to various applications (among them the mozilla crowd), 11.0 could be said to be more "current" than -current. I'd like to take advantage of those updates and upgrades, and so I have decided to switch to tracking 11.0, at least for the time being.

I am using slapt-get to update and upgrade my desktop, and I would like to configure slapt-get to move from -current to 11.0. Is it as simple as changing the configuration file to reflect the use of 11.0, or are there other considerations which I should make?

Just change the mirror to a Slackware 11.0 one. Blacklist Firefox so it doesn't downgrade you from 2.0.x to 1.5.x. Read the files README.TXT, CHANGES_AND_HINTS.TXT and UPGRADE.TXT on any Slackware 11.0 mirror or disc, although they aren't essential as you are running current.

Yeah, since I am running current, and since on 1 October -current and 11.0 were essentially the same (which Pat pretty much confirms in the -current changelog from 9 November), I didn't think that there would be any problems with the switch. But, I thought it would be prudent to ask here to see if anyone else has had the experience of doing this yet.

As for firefox, my -current box is running 1.5.x, and one of the reasons I want to switch to 11.0 is so that I can pick up on the upgrade to 2.0.x in 11.0/extra. Well, that, and some security updates.
