Domain Name
Hey, i just purchased a domain name from godaddy.
How do I set it up so when the person goes to the domain name, it is set to my server at 204.210.157.102? |
i seem to have said this soooo much recently... go to zoneedit.com and register. then tell your registrar to set the name servers to the ones zoneedit tells you to.
|
That isn't working. Ive set the ip for my domain to the ip that my server is at, but it still isnt connecting to it. help!

You have to wait 24 hours
|
maybe the internet needs rebooting. you've only got to wait until tomorrow night until Tim Berners-Lee reboots it on month-end. ;)

Any changes you make to the DNS will take 24-76 hours to fully propagate through the net. There's SFA you can do about shortening it, too.
You just need to be patient. It'll happen eventually. |
godaddy.com will allow you to use your new domain name as name servers. You have to setup BIND DNS to show ns1, ns2 subdomains.
It's not the easiest thing to do. I recommend getting BIND DNS by O'Reilley to help you along. |
