Does slack support USB keyboards?
Hello,
I've never tried this, I've always installed slackware using a ps/2 keyboard.
Does slackware support USB keyboards?
Thank you for any and all replies

There's a Dell Optiplex GX280 on the other side of the room from me with a USB keyboard and mouse that are working just fine from the command line (and from the GUI after a startx).
That was a long way of saying "yes"

Thanks, man! Much appreciated. Did you use the stock bare.i kernel or did you use something else to install on the GX280?

I had to use the sata kernel to get this one going. Since then I've upgraded it to 2.6.15.4 with no problems. Just make sure you turn off the local APIC support if you have a broadcom network adapter that uses the tg3 module.

Thanks, I appreciate the help!
I didn't think the stock kernel would work for USB. Very cool, you've saved me some headaches.

No problem - the USB support generally is fine. The best thing about the Dell USB keyboard the USB port in back of it. I can plug in my USB key without having to dig around the back of the PC for a spare port
