I play Dota2 on Slackware64-current. Aside from multilib, no additional software. I use NVIDIA drivers, for my video card I use version 390.116. It also runs fine with the nouveau driver, but better with NVIDIA.
It plays just fine, my son plays it more that I do on this same machine (when it available :-)), no complaints.
Processors: 4 × AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 840 Processor
Memory: 7.8 GiB of RAM
Edit: I also have Alien Bob's ktown installed.
