dma


i have read that u can make dma option in linux to make
it work fast
then how can i do it?

as root try hdparm. It will show you all the option that you have in setting hard disk parameters.

for more information:

man hdparm

hdparm -d 1 /dev/hdx (x = harddrive letter)
read man hdparm first!

Try something like:

Code:
/usr/sbin/hdparm -d1 -c3 -u1 /dev/hdX
But you *MUST* read hdparm(8) man page first.

i have notem and xine working slowly a friend told me to make dma option on
