Disabling HPLIP service

I recently installed a fresh copy of slackware-14.2, full 9nstall and xfce window manager.

How an I disavle the HPLIP service from starting in my X session (xfce)?
I have no HP printer or scanner, thus, obviously, it is useless to me. And annoying.

I mean I can configure it to hide the icon, but still it loads.
I could uninstall the package, but I would really like a m0re elegant solution.

Thank you

You can remove the file /etc/xdg/autostart/hplip-systray.desktop to prevent it from loading.

Applications -> Settings -> Session and Startup -> Application Autostart
Uncheck HP System Tray Service
