Thanks for the replies and suggestions. However, I think I will pass on the checkinstaller. A little too much of a program doing stuff on its own. I want to maintain the control.

All I really want to know is how to make a Slackware package if the ./configure does not work because it has a binary install such as install.sh (as in this example)
