Ok, smth works. I installed app from http://www.olitec.com/pci56kv2.html.
Did what described on http://linmodems.org/cgi-bin/ezmlm-c...jbpkiielnoodfa [not "", but if separately ":"+"o"!). Now I'm able to phone. I've to dial the number: 8 (wait a second) 7777777. Ok, I work from modem terminal, I type: atdp8,7777777, but kppp calls somehow wrong! How to dial this number, in Win it looks like: p8,77777...WAIT!!!!!
I CALL 7777777, But Number is 277777777!!! WAIT! May be this is it? Ok, sorry for my stupidity, now I unload Win2k and load Linux. Keep on! But insure me that I type number correctly, if it's not boring to u! Pray!!!

Here's my terminal:

ATZ
OK

atdp8,27777777
CONNECT 38400

User Access Verification

Username: 277
Password:
Entering PPP mode.
Async interface address is unnumbered (FastEthernet0/0.99)
Your IP address is 217.116.138.52. MTU is 1500 bytes

~}#@!}!}=} }8}"}&} }*} } }#}$@#}%}&]O1{}'}"}(}"D}2~}#@!}!}>}
NO CARRIER}8}"}&} }*} } }#}$@#}%}&]O1{}'}"}(}"}.

If I press 'Connect' from main kppp window, it dials up, but redials, redials over and over again. May be, it's awful connection? Or am I doing smth wrong? Help! And what is 'NO CARRIER'? My highest speed is 36,6 - may be this error occurs because 38400 is chosen? And should I configure Mozilla, Netscape, Galeon or any other browser to use Net? And where?
A few left, i think, but WHAT?

try using minicom
it could show you does really your modem work.
If it works, then you can try to write a connect script.

Men! I'm still at a loss. I tried 'minicom'. It beeps some sound telling me "Ok, connected", but when I enter username and password the same occurs: it prints the s**t you can see above... I had a look at mincom options and found that NO CARRIER is the 'No connect string' value, as I understood NO CARRIER is printed when I didn't succeed. Hey! What to do!? Help me! SOS!!! I don't understand what to do! I know I'm a fool, but IS HERE someone who's not???

How to use dial-up connection?

(You can see the whole story of my problem on Forums->LinDistros->Slackware->Sorry for boring, how to set dial-up connection)
Tell u from beginning.
I run kppp.
I choose 'terminal window' to talk with modem (drivers installed properly).
I type 'atz'. It prints 'ok'.
I type the number: 'atdp8,27777777'.
My ISP gives me only Phone, Username and Password.
Ok, it prints 'CONNECT' and asks me to enter username.
I enter '277'. It asks password. I enter EmptyString (ISP is our city telephone company). Then there prints many s**t (you can see this s**t on LinDistros->Slackware branch). And prints 'NO CARRIER'. Then nothing happens. I was advized to try 'minicom'. I tried. The same happens, but in minicomConfigs I found such string: "No connect string: NO CARRIER". So I think NO CARRIER is printed when I don't succeed to get to Net. Does anybody here know WHTA'S UP???

I guess, you hadn't took a look at Slack branch. Well, I repeat. I press 'Connect', it dials my number, beeps-beeps-beeps-...-beeps. And then I see such string in StatusBar: running pppd (or smth like it) and it redials over and over again! What's in this case?

I'm registered too: #378175
And by the way, how to put image from this site on my homepage? That i'm registered?

ppp0 is ur 1st ppp device i.e ur modem

do u have a symlink from /dev/modem --->to ur modem say /dev/ttys0

(if it is COM1 in windows)

or choose ur device form kppp in the modem TAB

There was a guy with almost such a problem. KEEP ON!
you surely get diferent IPs from ur ISP each day but ur DNS IP will be same

after u are connected
run

tail /var/log/messages

and u will see an entry of PRIMARY ,secondary DNS
use them
