DHCP question

How can I get my Slackware 11.0 PC to release and renew its DHCP address / settings?

The Linux commands 'ifdown eth0' and 'ifup eth0' do not seem to apply to the Slackware distribution.

I'd try
Code:
ifconfig eth0 down
dhcpcd eth0
OR if Slackware isn't using dhcpcd, but dhclient instead, the latter command would be 'dhclient eth0' I guess. The first command ought to deactivate eth0 device, and running dhcp client should again "activate" it and obtain a new address for it.
