dhclient and dhcpcd broken after latest

I now recieve the following error while trying to connect to a wireless network from the CLI:

Code:

dhcpcd wlan0
dhcpcd: version 5.1.5 starting
dhcpcd: wlan0: waiting for carrier
dhcpcd: timed out
dhcpcd: allowing 8 seconds for IPv4LL timeout
dhcpcd: timed out

dhclient wlan0
/sbin/dhclient-script: line 117: ifconfig: command not found

running ifconfig produces the expected output so the problem is not that ifconfig is not installed, and it must be in the proper $PATH. Any thoughts?

I used to be able to use dhcpcd and dhclient interchangeably. This machine was connecting properly prior to the update.

Your are right, after update I have got the same thing.

I don't know for now what has changed exactly ( I check up on it later ) but it is most probably some initial scripts or configs that set the PATH variable.

For quick fix edit the /sbin/dhclient-script and add somwhere at the beginning:

PATH=/sbin/:$PATH

I reverted back to the 13 packages for those two with no issue. /sbin is already in my $PATH so I would be surprised if that fixed it.
