I found this laptop on Dell's site and read a few reviews with very positive results. My question is...does it run linux? Based on most of the improvements in the 2.6.x series kernel, I am willing to bet that it does. I know that this is not the right forum necessarily, but I also know that most of the linux brains hang out here [I like to think that includes me, too]. Has anyone used this machine, or does anyone have anything to offer concerning it?
There is a specific option in the 2.6 (maybe 2.4 also, I havn't checked) for dell laptops. Dell laptops are supported very well, but you will need to compile the 2.6 kernel manually. The Slackware 2.6 kernel config in testing did not work for my dell laptop. I had to do a 'make distclean' before compiling my kernel to remove Pat's configurations.

Please post the results, i'm looking into the m1210 too
It should be OK. Just checked its specification. It has an Intel 950 video card. It should be handled by the new 945 driver from Intel. I am using the 855 driver on my Inspiron 700m, it supports 1280x800 resolution very well. Wireless is Intel ipw 3945. It also should be fine. The interesting thing about this laptop is that it supports up to 4GB but you have to pay $1,800 extra!
