Dell 600m + alt-tab key combo = kwin crash....a wifi problem...wtf????

Okay Here is what I am running:
Dell Inspiron 600m 1.7ghz Centrino Ati mobility 9000 & ipw2200

Slackware 10.2 with Kernel 2.6.16.16 (happened with an earlier version as well) Ati driver 8.24.8 and ipw firmware ver.2.4
Kde updated to 3.5.2 from the kde.org packages.

The behavior is extremely strange, when I hit the key combo alt-tab, kwin crashes but here is the strange part it seems to happen after I loose wifi connectivity. It just disappears after coming out of suspend(to ram)...I can see the signal strength but cannot connect to any web site. And it "cures" itself with a reboot and wireless works normally. I also want to mention I use suspend via the kde control panel.

My first instinct was to blame ati's driver but I am not sure?
It seems pretty constistant with the wifi dropping after coming out of suspend..

and hear is the backtrace:

I have the very same problem. If for some reason I decide to leave my wifi connection and not shut down KDE, KWin crashes just like it would if I switched windows(Alt+Tab)/desktops(Ctrl+Tab) when moving from an empty desktop. The only difference from the original poster's problem is that I don't have to lose my wifi connection to get the KWin crash, a simple move from and empty desktop will do the trick and a Ctrl+Alt+Backspace is in order. The crash itself doesn't effect my wifi connection at all, but vice-versa... hmmm...

The error messages the original poster posted are very very similar to mine. I'm also of the conviction that other KDE services are effected by this as well even though they don't seem to "crash" like KWin. I've been looking for an answer to this as well but as far as I know, this is an unresolved bug with KDE 3.5. Lots of other people have reported this on bug report sites that I've come across while excessivly googling the issue. I'm sure it will be addressed with a patch sooner than later. I normally use 3 desktops and I switch between at least 2 of them regularly. It seems silly that I have to have a window open and visible in all of them to switch between desktops without having to restart X.

Just for kicks:
Dell Inspiron 8200 - 1.7GHz Intel P4 - 256MB RAM - 40GB ATA HDD - Intel i845 Brookdale chipset - AGP/ nVidia GeForce2 Go - LinkSys WPC54G PCMCIA WiFi card - Slackware-current (May 29, 2006)

I also wonder what this is all about and if there are currently any workarounds? I'm considering an uninstall of KDE 3.5 and going with 3.4.

I had that bug too on KDE 3.5.2, annoying as hell.

I was corrected on KDE 3.5.3, here's the changelog, look for KWin.

I have upgraded, compiling from source, and I have had no bugs so far
