date for slackware 9.0??

Is there any release date of slackware 9.0?

or will it take ages before this one is done

I'm using 8.1 now on 3 computers of the 6.

but when 9.0 comes, I'm planning to install it on all of them

From the look at their website, the last two releases seem to have come around June, so I would assume it won't be out till that time or so!

It will be released when Patrick feels its ready as no one knows here or will ever know when a distro is released. This question is asked all the time and its the same response: We Don't Know!

Keep an eye on the Changelog of current over at Slackware.com. This last time around Patrick did a couple release candidates, 3 if I remember right, starting about 2 months run up to the 8.1 release.

Oh, and yesterday current went up to the 2.4.20 kernel, inculding all the new XFS fun and joy!

Cheers,

Finegan
