D915GAV Driver
I have installed Slackware 10.2 in a Machine with an Intel D915GAV Motherboard.
It runs beautifully (I love Slack). Anyways, the downside is I cannot get the Network Driver to work; the fact is I cannot find a Driver for the darn thing. I don't have a problem not having sound or a webcam, but I depend on a network connection :-( Winblows reports the LAN Card as Intel(R) PRO/100 VE. I checked the Intel and searched the Web but no success. Does anyone have a clue what driver to use or where to find it? |
pddm,
Did you try Code:
root@box: modprobe eepro100 |
Thanks odevans,
modprobe e100 did the trick. This made me curious about something else: If the driver was there all the time, why would it not be recognized by itself? PS: here is the lspci -v output for reference: 06:08.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82562ET/EZ/GT/GZ - PRO/100 VE (LOM) Ethernet Controller (rev 01) Subsystem: Intel Corporation: Unknown device 3057 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 3 Memory at ff7ff000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K] I/O ports at bc00 [size=64] Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 2 |
Re your sound, did you run alsamixer (as root) and unmute / turn up the levels?. Did you run alsactl store (again, as root) afterwards to save them? I did a quick spot of googling on your mobo and it seems it should work. Try modprobe snd-hda-intel (got this from 2.6 kernel, don't know if it's in 2.4).
Hope this helps, Owen |
This is awsome.
I did not even expect to make it run. Confirmed it all works on a 2.4 Kernel. Thank you so much! |
Don't forget to add any modprobes you did to your /etc/rc.d/rc.modules - that way they'll load on your next boot.
Glad you're all up and running! Owen |
Thank you for driver it will help me =).
