Cycling through rxvt fonts--identifying fonts

Hello!

I'm trying to get Slackware 12.2 set up with the fonts I like, and find that the best font for a terminal is the one I get to by turning on "Num Lock" and cycling through the fonts available for rxvt by pressing shift-+ on the keypad repeatedly until it stops changing.

Unfortunately, I can't identify what font that is so I can put it into my .Xresources file. I've tried xfontsel and can't track it down. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I've attached a screenshot to the post. The font I want is in the terminal in the upper left. It looks quite similar to the default font for xfontsel (the one the headings are displayed in), only a bit larger. For comparison, rxvt -fn 12x24 is at the lower right. It seems to be the right width, but taller, and has serifs. If it helps, the original screenshot, which I couldn't upload because it broke the 256K limit for uploads, is available here. The display, by the way, is 1915x1430. That's what what the xorg.conf xorgsetup created gives me with an ATI Rage 128 card.

Hard to see with the low resolution JPEG shot you've created, but I think it's misc-fixed in 20 pixels size. This is an example:

It looks like one of the misc-fixed fonts, but it's bigger. If the uploaded screenshot is too low-res, check the one here. (Sorry about the bad link in the previous post.)

I should add that the font I want also looks the same as the default font for a console without X.

EUREKA-UPDATE-It turns out that misc-fixed fonts come in all pixel sizes, not just the ones that show up in xfontsel. So I'll do misc-fixed in 14 pixels.

Thanks for the response!

It's an oversized version of that same font. Try specifying bigger nonexistant pixel sizes for that font in your .Xresources file, like 21, 22, 23, 24... etc.

I meant 24 pixels! I put that in my .Xresources and now all is hunky-dory. Thanks again!
