Current: NetworkManager 1.20

As per the request in the Tue Aug 6 19:56:46 UTC 2019 Changelog I tested the new NetworkManager.
My LAN came up without a hitch and I can access the internet.
The network-manager-applet 1.8.22 did not show anything out of the ordinary.
Alas I am not in a position to test plugins such as the openvpn and pptp ones.

One small snag is that it doesn't automatically connect to familiar networks anymore. They're saved, but I have to reselect the option "all users may connect to this network" in the applet each time. No big issue, but noteworthy nonetheless.

I've always had to use that option to get the machine to connect automatically (and before X, in my case), but are you saying that the option doesn't stick now?

I'll have to test that.

I'll have to test that.

It removed the selected option for me when I updated. Once setting it again, it's working as before.

As linuxtinker says, it sticks after it's been reselected for each network. But it was a bit of a surprise initially because I thought it wasn't able to connect at all.

No problems here either.
I have a USB LTE modem that I sometimes use when on travel, and that was picked up, too.

Just to add, for any plugins complaining about libnm-gtk or libnm-glib; those have been removed from upstream NetworkManager. Make sure you add "--without-libnm-glib" in your Slackbuild. Ex NetworkManager-openvpn.
