-current and beyond

Hello I have a question about -current and the future 10.1, since GTK+ 2.6 and Pango 1.8.0 is the default, say someone builds a binary package with 2.4.x will I still be able to run this application? Also since it includes a different of glibc, and such will I be able to run binary packages made for slackware, or just general binary packages made with other distros or possibly other versions of glibc on slackware -current or 10.1 that is coming out?
