Cups printer with autentication?
Hi all, in my new department there is a network printer that requires authentication to print.
From what I found cups uses kerberos to authenticate. I install krb5 from slackbuilds but still i can't print anything. How do i configure that? I little more of reading and Slackware don't use PAM, so it's possible to authenticate in a printer by cups with some other way? |
Check out http://www.cups.org/documentation.php/kerberos.html. I don't remember if you have to recompile CUPS for kerbelos support. From the page, It does looks like it does not.

I will try that. |
I discover the problem, and it is printer relied.
The printer is a konica minolta that requires the password in a strange way. More info can be found here. |
