"crontab -e" failing due to lack of /run/cron

It is very rare, but I do use "crontab -e" to load a crontab, with a view to modifying it if necessary.

I can use "crontab -l" to display my crontab (no matter as regular user or as root). But "crontab -e" fails without /run/cron/

Am I the only one seeing this? My -current has lots of customization under the hood, so this might actually be my fault.

The rc.crond script will create /run/cron.

Ugh. Bingo. I still have both /etc/rc.d/rc.M{,.new}.

I need to put the *.new things into their proper places.

I have some home-brew scripts that greatly simplify the task for me. For this case, "swapconfig" is designed to fit how I approach the task of configuration management.
