counter part of "rpm -ivh --force kernel....rpm in slackware

Hello all,
what is the way of reinstalling the kernel forcefully in case it has been corrupted during compilation
i did it once in RedHat 9 using
Quote:

#rpm -ivh --force (the kernel).rpm
from the list of kernels in the bootable cd of the RedHat distro.

How should i do it in Slackware 10.0

regards

To reinstall the kernel manually from the disks:

* The default kernel slackware package is in slackware/a on the first disk.
* Default modules is in the same place (kernel-modules*.tgz).
* installpkg /mnt/cdrom/slackware/a/kernel*.tgz will just rewrite the installed packages with the ones off the cd.
* You will have to check /etc/lilo.conf and then rerun lilo.

Alternatively you should be able to accomplish all of the above in one swipe with pkgtool --> Reconfigure --> Configure.

Good luck,
- Piete.
