Could not launch KDEInit

Apon finally getting able to start the gui, it says that Kdeinit could not start or similar (fresh install of slackware)

It shows this in the left top corner of the screen then with an Okay button.

I don't know why this happened, gnome worked fine, but I hate how it looks.

Anyone have an answer?

if this is the problem I'm thinking of, it'll work again if you delete ~/.Xauthority

but if GNOME works, then I doubt it.

im trying to say, I reformatted without installing gnome, because I don't know how to switch from say gnome to kde without reformatting.

EDIT: With gnome, it said something about config and not being able to launch it on start up... but I could still use it
