Correct way to upgrade to Slackware64 ?

Hello , im' a newbie here

I'm interested in evaluate SLK64 (You like the way i abbreviate it ? )
but i have some questions....

Is the correct way change my mirror for slackpkg to "....slackware64-current" instead of "......slackware-12.2" and do a
# slackpkg install-new

Or is a series of other slackpkg parameters ?

TIA,

Do a new installation from scratch. Upgrades are not supported (though certainly possible).

I was going to try an installpkg type thing from 12.2 to a new root partition. Then I realized all the packages were in the new txz format. I didn't feel like 'upgrading' pkgtools for 12.2 to 32 bit current. That seems more trouble than it's worth. Not to mention the extra extra set up you would need to do afterwards.
