console/xterm scroll?

hi people,

yes i can scroll in console and in xterm, but is there a way to expand the memory of scroll. for example i do a search with slocate and 500 files show up but i can also go up till a certain point. is there a way to be able to scroll up more then the default?

thanks in advance

man xterm, there's a option to expand the buffer. You should try slocate something | grep anotherthing that will make the list shorter. Also, you can output the slocate ouput to a file slocate something > afile and read it.

There is a way to increase framebuffer memory but it implies add a line in /usr/src/linux/drivers/video/console/vgacon.c and recompile the kernel.

Look here for more infos

Not sure about slack, but on my debian box I added several lines to ~.Xresources and ran "xrdb -merge .Xresources" to install them. Here is my scrolling line, and a new font and scrolbar:

xterm*SaveLines: 2000
xterm*font: 9x15bold
xterm*rightScrollBar: true

Update: just tried it on slack10 and it works.
