console blanking leaves screen at half brightness

Hey all, using a toshiba satellite c6650 with slackware 13.1, cant work out why my screen is not returning to full brightness after the console blanker kicks in. My eyes arent what they used to be, any ideas?

I do not know the answer (BTW, telling which video card you have and video driver you use could help investigate).

Meanwhile, you could disable completely console blanking, if you don't need it.

To do that edit /etc/rc.d/rc.M, and comment out this line:

/bin/setterm -blank 15 -powersave powerdown -powerdown 60

or change the parameters.

PS Maybe the setting has changed a bit, I have that line on Slackware 14.0. HTH anyway.

Yeah, card might help sorry. Its an AMD Radeon 6310 HD and using the VESA driver. Thanks for the reminder, been a few years since I've used these forums.
