After I leave X, I just get a black screen. Then I hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and just reboot. I've tried using different window managers and exiting, same problem. My Console resolution is set at 1024x768x256. Maybe I should try a lower resolution? How do I fix this problem? When Slack 10 is loading, I see no console problems. This problem occurs everytime I leave X. Also, if I try to switch to console via CTRL+ALT+F(X), the same problem occurs, well plus I can't get back to X in that case.
Same problem, but i cant see the messages of the boot
i can only see it, when linux end the boot and enter to gdm, where i login and use in xterm dmesg.

i fix it, about ten minutes ago.
it was the framebuffer support.
It's a clean install. I changed no settings. I'm using an Intel 845GV onboard graphics card. X runs just fine. I don't know what my xorg settings are, they're just defaults.
