Connecting to the Internet - KDE - Slack 11

Hi,

I need help connecting slackware 11 with kde to the internet.

it is a fresh full install.

any one willing to take this challenge i would greatly appresate it.

I think the first thing i need to find out is if my network card is installed correctly. Any suggestions on how to do this?

Thanks

The 'lspci' command will tell you the brand & model of your network card.

Then the 'lsmod' command can be used to check that the right kernel module for your card has been loaded.

Normally, all that's needed to connect is 'dhcpcd eth0'. If you chose the correct options upon installation, it should connect automatically at boot.

At least it does for me.

Try reading this, if you really can't figure it out, then please post which part you can't figure out. I have no idea what you have tried or haven't tried, what kernel you are using (if you've installed the modules), or really anything.
