Conky vs KDE - Translucency and MouseOvers

Greetz
This is by no means urgent but before I dive in further I'd like to know if anyone has used Xdotool or anything else for that matter, to create an interactive Conky. In my case, all I want to do is flip the

"own_window_argb_value"

from more transparent to less transparent so that when I mouseover Conky, it pops in contrast. I suppose it might be possible to do this by not owning the window and letting the window manager's settings for Active Window Transparency and Inactive Window Transparency takeover, but so far this has not worked for me with Conky.

Again this isn't urgent but just seems a nice tweak to improve clean looks but retain usefulness.

This is what I have now

XFCE w/ Conky

I have the opposite problem in KDE w/ Widgets. Transparency works everywhere else (so I’m probably just missing some specific setting somewhere for widgets) but when I select “Translucent” for the Widget background it remains opaque and way too bold, destroying what I consider to be almost a clean desktop. You can see it as it is now (ugly) here

Thanks and yes it does, in that I've already read most of it which caused me to make this thread to get some feedback before I put much time in it.

i see.
well i once tried sth like that, started reading that thread, but there's a lot of info hidden somewhere in posts and basic one would have to read it ALL. anyhow, it seems to work, but my attention span just wasn't sufficient

that said, if you want some more specific advice with xdotool and conky, can do!
i'm just not good with lua.
