configuring network
 

how do I configure my distro to connect to the net? I live in an apartment on a college campus that is serves the internet through a wireless access point.

Your description says you're using Fedora Core 4. This is the Slackware forum.
Are you using Slackware and simply haven't updated your info, or have you posted

What kind of wireless card do you have? Post the output of 'lspci'.
The command 'netconfig' will get you up and running if you are using
a conventional ethernet connection.

I don't have a card per se, but I do have an adapter--a Belkin usb connected.

Check to see if http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net supports your adaptor. That will probably be the way to go:)
