configuring ibm-acpi on thinkpad

Hello all,

I'm slowly but surely getting Slackware installed and configured on my Thinkpad t42. One piece that remains to be working for me though is the sleep/hibernate functions on the laptop. I've done some reading on thinkwiki and learned about the ibm-acpi option in the kernel, and now have that built. What I don't have yet is a clue as to how to get the acpi event handler to recognize the lid close as a sleep command, nor how to get the thinkpad buttons working properly, which is something else that the ibm-acpi driver is supposed to handle. Can anyone give me an idea of what I need to do to get this configured?

Thank you
