Configure Radeon X850XT and Network help !

I need some help installing the proper drivers/configuring my video card. I can only get 1024x768 on my 19" monitor at 61hz. I also need help getting my network connection working on it. Heres my motherboard: http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/...es=1&model=262
It is an onboard network connection. Gigabit Ethernet (Vitesse VSC8201RX Gigabit Ethernet PHY) (found on an off-site)

My video card is an ATI Radeon X850XT.

Im running slackware 10.2 with KDE.

Im pretty new to linux, so newbie words/terms/instructions are appreciated !

OK. Need a little more info (mostly for the gigabit ethernet)
Can you post:
  • lspci
  • lsmod
  • ifconfig -a
As far as the card goes, look in my sig for the DRI link.
It has an extensive ATI section.

Well, I would tell you the stuff for the gigabit, however thats in linux. Linux has no network connection. I cant post you the info because I would need to go back to windows, and im sure theres some lengthy details in there. I have something I'm going to try though. I'll get back to you.

I did netconfig from command prompt. I skipped this during installation because it kept asking me for a domain, but I just typed home and it shut up. The network works now. I will follow the link for the ATI Drivers. If I need more help, I'll post back!
