compiling kqemu after switching to 2.6 kernel

I just switched to the 2.6 kernel from 2.4. I had qemu + kqemu working fine on 2.4. In upgrading, I used the huge26 kernel, changed /boot/System.map to point to the 2.6 one, installed kernel-modules-2.6.17.13, and did chmod -x rc.modules 2.4.33.3 and chmod +x rc.modules-2.6.17.13 and pointed rc.modules to the new one.

Now, when I try modprobing kqemu, it just says "module can't be found." I tried recompiling it, but same thing.

1) Do I just need to install the 2.6 kernel source package?
2) Do I need to install the 2.6 kernel headers package?
3) Are there any special options I need to use when compiling now?
4) Will installing any of these packages mess up the programs I already compiled under 2.4?

Thanks.

The kqemu module is not a part of the Slackware 2.6 kernel package which you just installed - you will have to recompile kqemu for your new kernel.

Thanks, after installing the source, I'm up and running. I got a device busy error when I first tried to modprobe kqemu, but using "modprobe kqemu major=0" solved the problem. I guess it's something to do w/ udev, but I definitely don't know the explanation. Anyway, I'm back up and running with the accelerator, so it's all good.
