Well, you have to tell us which sound options you choosed. Sound Support only, Sound Support + OSS, Sound Support + ALSA, or both.
Try reinstalling the alsa-driver first.
This is my first time compiling a kernel, so a mistake was bound to happen. That's okay though!. I believe I chose both..but I may have got lost somewhere in the process. I think tomorrow morning I may just try one more time..and recompile the kernel. It was most likely an error on my end.
It's ok, take your time, my only advice is too choose only sound support (no OSS no ALSA) and install alsa-drivers separately, that's what i've always done and worked. Just take in count that it won't be your last time compiling it, i've compiled my 2.6.6 kernel 5 times until I got it like i wanted
Edit: Before compiling it again, try what i said, reinstall alsa-driver package and run alsaconf.
I compiled it again...and with luck, it worked . Now my sound is back, and all is well while running kernel 2.6.7.
Yet one more question though...
When I choose slackware 10 (2.6) from lilo menu...it just goes to a black screen. Now it loads everything up still, because if I wait a minute or so...it goes to my login manager..but normally, before I upgraded, it showed the text of what was being loaded at startup.

Look at your /etc/lilo.conf
For starters, comment out all the VESA modes (if any are being used) and only leave the
vga=normal
line uncommented. Then run "lilo" again as root to re-install lilo with those changes.
I'm thinking you may have some framebuffer console mode set in lilo which you may not have compiled support for when you did the kernel compile.
