Compilation of Noteedit for Slack-13

I use noteedit to play the bass bar of my music.
No problem with Slack-12.2: Timidity, Lilypond, Freepats and Noteedit.
Started with the same packages in Slack-13.
It fails because of missing kde libraries.

Compilation of noteedit-2.8.1 fails:
Code:

checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.0) (headers and libraries) not found
Installation of qt-3.3.8b seems to work for Noteedit but borks X.
(Did not remove qt-r1008952)
Had to remove qt-3.3.8b and reinstall qt-r1008952 to get X working again.
Any idea to get Noteedit compiled?

I am not an expert but I had to install the files in kde-compat folder from the Slackware dvd to compile a program. You might want to check those out.

I'm not a musician, but i searched linux music notation software for a friend of mine few years ago and found qt4 based musescore. Maybe it will come as suitable replacement for noteedit, which isn't developed any more as far as i know.

EDIT: oh, and there's also tuxguitar.

Did you install a program, that needed qt-3?

I still did not receive the DVD (installed 13 from 3 iso's)
Subscription members in Europe have to be patient :)
But I'll wait for the DVD.

Thank you veeall for your remark about musescore.
