s*m*s is still young.
For the thing that concerns you, it just is Slackware, with a torrentflux package and a webadmin interface.
If you install slackware, configure slackware as you wish, and install torrentflux, you have the same, but costumized to your wishes
Maybe you can ask a slackbuild for torrentflux from the sms project admin?
Also, there have been some security updates for slackware 12 since it was released. Nothing *big* big, but... Will sms copy the security fixes?
With slackware 12, you can expect a OS that will be supported for a long time.
basically, as I see it, slackware vs. sms means:
ssh login vs. webadmin interface
longtime security updates vs. a young, new project
Also, you could use slackware if you plan to use linux for other purposes (desktop, firewall...), but sms is dedicated to one goal.
