Hello guys!

I have here a HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4480B LG drive, it´s a beaty...

As it is a cdr, I´m using ide-scsi on lilo append.
My fstab is more or less like:
"/dev/cdr /mnt/cdrom noauto,iso9660,users 0 0"
The /dev/cdr points to /dev/scdr0.

I can mount my data cds perfecty, being root or user, with the comand
mount /dev/cdr. I´m mounting my dvds in this way too, and I get no message errors.

BUT when I try to watch my dvd with xine, already configured to scan /dev/cdr, it says that there is no dvd data on that path!

What could I do?

Xine uses /dev/dvd as standard device.
Make sure your /dev/dvd points to /dev/sr0 as well by
ls -l dev/dvd
and then include yourself as normal user into the disk group editing /etc/group file
This should allow you to watch dvds
PS remember to install libdvdcss first in order to watch encripted dvds

I've installed libs css, read and nav, and now it's all ok!
Now I have to configure my cd writer...
