Color management and Monitor Calibration in Slackware64

I am trying to calibrate my monitor using Argyll 1.0.4. It uses the binary from the windows install disk to run the calibrator (spyder2). The problem appears to be that the windows binary (likely 32 bit) will not run on Slackware64. The argyll software does compile properly. My work around was to run the calibration on windows in virtualbox and take the profile back into slackware. The problem appears to be that nothing changes when the calibration runs on windows. I know my monitor is not even close as I have viewed the same images on my machine and on a newly calibrated windows machine and they are very different. Does anyone have any thoughts on a workaround?

My last resort is to put the original HD in with Vista on it and create a profile then bring it back to slack. I'm hoping there are some less drastic ideas.

Thanks

Went the painful route and ran the calibration in vista. I'm still interested in any ideas that would let me avoid having to do that again.

I'm into this stuff also, but i don't have calibration hardware yet. Anyway here's a website with few articles about color management and monitor calibration in linux.
