Cinnamon connot start session

Hi!
I installed new slackware-current without any DE only X. After I added a "csd" repository and I installed Cinnamon.
But Cinnamon does`n start it showed error window "connnot start cinnamon session".

Tell me, please. How can i resolve this problem?

I installed full liveCD with KDE, Xfce and others. After i installed cinnamon and it works well. Why the clear installation is not working?

Please verify your "clear" slackware-current installation is x86_64.

uname -m

I think we've all grabbed a wrong ISO a time or three. Subtle naming convention between the two.

I took the last ISO from http://bear.alienbase.nl/mirrors/sla...4-current-iso/
Code:
	slackware64-current-install-dvd.iso	2020-09-05 22:18	3.3G
I think it is another problem. I got a error like it in another installation. I was lazy to solve it.

I don't know what a "csd" repository is, but due to its GNOME origins, Cinnamon has zero chance of running on Slackware without replacing large parts of Slackware.

If you want Cinnamon, you should use a distro that officially supports it.

Where did you get this repository? Only one I know of for Slackware is here https://slackware.uk/csb/ or you could build it from Willy's git-hub here https://github.com/CinnamonSlackBuilds/csb

I did something similar with mate - no xfce & no kde a month ago with current on bare metal - without issue. Although I used Willy's build scripts and git. Willy could definitely tell you more if he chimes in, but if I were you - I would encourage you to use use his build script because the packages may depend on one another and need to be installed accordingly.

https://github.com/CinnamonSlackBuil...er/BUILD_ORDER

I would install the packages in the above order if you wish to use the prebuilt packages.

Ok. I'll try to install the packages in the above order. If it will without results I'll build from git.

If you use the binary packages, it doesn't have to be installed in certain order. The BUILD ORDER is used when building from source (git).

FYI, i never tested on partial installation. I only test on full installation of Slackware-Current and the binaries were rebuilt yesterday against latest update of Slackware-Current.

Thanks Willy, good to know. I have had limited exposure to cinnamon, so I am firing up up-to-date current on a vm now with no kde & no xfce with cinnamon right now with your build script. Thank you for all your hard work - I'm more of a gnome2 guy myself and mate works beautifully.

Just finished - and cinnamon starts up no problem - well done, I like the slackware logo on the menu button, nice.

Um, Cinnamon runs just fine on Slackware. Willy is the one who maintains the CinnamonSlackBuilds (csb) repo.

I've been running Cinnamon for well over 3 years now on Slackware thanks to him.

Mine is a little "fuller" and only build from source though. (and kind of needs updating)

Kudos to you and willysr. I tried Cinnamon only briefly on Debian. It is a lot of packages, which is why I advised the OP to use a distro that includes it.
