Upgraded harfbuzz yes, icu4c no.

I'll go back to the stock harfbuzz (if I can find it, heh) and try again and see what happens.

I found that Chrome/Chromium uses the settings defined in ~/.config/fontconfig/fonts.conf, so unless these match the XFCE settings the fonts will be rendered differently.

Chromium is more lightweight than Firefox, at least here.
