Hey guys, got Slackware 14.2 installed and upgraded to Plasma 5 (thanks AB!). Installed sbopkg, ran it and installed ninja and am now attempting to install Chromium. Initially was doing so inside of KDE, but the system seemed to lock up. I rebooted and started the install of Chromium again without running startx and walked away from the system. Came back and it was stalled, but was almost at the end. Rebooted and started again, and left it run for 2 hours. Came back and it's stalled at the same spot, so I thought it might be time to see what you all had to say. Last line is at:
When you stopped the build, it was doing what we call (in technical terms) the bloody huge link at the end. This takes a *long* time. A *very* long time. If you don't have enough memory, it takes even longer.

Well I have a hefty system. Core i7, 32gb ram, SSD. I would expect it to move along a bit quicker. I've installed Chromium in this fashion on a few different computers running Slackware, and I think it normally took me around an hour. Those were older systems too. Either way, I've got it working so I'm happy now.
