Checkinstall Package Upgrading?

Is it possible to use checkinstall like upgradepkg?

Why do you want that ? You could always use checkinstall, then upgradepkg
Also, I can't remember if checkinstall automatically install the package with
make install, in this case the package will be upgraded without upgradepkg

Checkinstall is a shell script. If you felt so inclined you could modify it.

Find the lines that say

installpkg

and change them to

upgradepkg --install-new

I did it and it works fine, however unless you feel comfortable with that sort of thing i wouldn't really recommend it.
