Changing the default color depth Slackware64-current
I changed the default depth from 24 to 32 in xorg.conf. X would not start like that, so I changed it back. Now back to normal.
The graphics chip is an onboard Nvidia 6150 SE, using the Nvidia x86_64-180.51 driver. Is there something else I need to do to change the color depth? |
Hi, I have a pci-e 9800GT with 512Mb of ram and it only does 24bit as well.
24bit is ....bpp, bit per pixel. commonly confused with 32bit processing. from the wiki....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_depth Quote:
