i'm just chaning over from fedora to slackware and i've done my install and now i've got a few questions
in fedora to start a service i either have to run one of two commands
service *service name* start
of ./etc/init.d/*service name*
how do i start them in slackware?
also i'm not sure if this is the same program or not, before i used to use vnc to connect remotely and now i have setup what appears to be some kinda of vnc server or desktop shareing utility but when i connect the screen size wont go any bigger than 800 x 600 when i know the screen size will go higher?
on starting the service: as root you can run pkgtool from the command line and one of the choices is start up services. you can see what is on or off that way.
