changing boot partition

Everything is installed and setup on my system, but when I setup my partitions I chose my Windows partition to be bootable. Can I just use cfdisk to toggle the bootable flag so my linux partition is bootable and rewrite the partition table?

The boot flag is irrelevant for the usual Linux bootloaders.
Just leave it as-is - if you ever need to do anything with the Windoze install disk, it will look for the boot flag, and expect to find it on NTFS/FAT.

Then how do I boot my newly installed Linux? When I boot to my C drive my system boots Windows.
