Changing an NTFS partition to FAT
I have two hard disks on my system. Both are IDE drives, 20Gb in size.
I have Slack on /dev/hdb and Win2k on /dev/hda1. Win2k takes up 10Gb of the first hard drive. The other 10GB is formatted in NTFS, it's a logical partition. I want to convert this to FAT so that I can use it as a shared drive between Win2k and Slack.
I tried ot use cfdisk (using Slack10 installation cds) to delete the ntfs partition and then rewrite as a FAT partition. However I cannot mount it as a FAT partition, wrong fs type the warning told me. I logged into Win2k and sure enough the drive is still there and is still NTFS. Can anyone tell me how to convert it??
