Changelog Warning

There were new updates in current. Since there are some name changes and a move backward in versions, those of you using auto updates may want to monitor what happens and manually handle any of the changes not done by swaret/slapt-get ...

Too late. Can you please substantiate your fear against it?

aaa_elflibs may overwritte your installed libs from other package, look at the file list

cat /var/log/packages/aaa_elflibs*

As I'v said I had no probs upgrading using swaret (slapt-get might be different though), aaa_elflibs updates fine on my machine.

Again with the flame wars...

Its not a matter of which package manager you use to update aaa_elflibs, its the matter of actually "updating" it..

I was talking about this quote
Quote:
a/aaa_elflibs-10.1.0-i486-1.tgz: Updated initial library collection.
Please remember that (as the package description notes) this package is
only intended to be installed at an initial installation, and attempting
to "upgrade" it later may copy over newer libraries and cause damage to
your system. Some broken upgrade tools haven't learned this fact...
And if you're SO worried about swaret, why not just add a line saynig
EXCLUDE=aaa_elflibs

Okay, I haven't reboot my system since the "upgrade". As of now, everything accept gnome and openoffice in xfce and gnome have problem. Is it too late for me to roll back to the previous aaa_elflibs?
