Changed mind about Upgrading KDE but now my system is off
Alright I have slack 10.1 and I wanted to upgrade kde from 3.3 to 3.4 i found that i really didnt like 3.4 as much as 3.3 (mostly issues wiht the kicker setup) but nonethess i uninstalled the packages and reinstalled the original 3.3 packages. but now when i try to do something like change the time or anything that requires su privelages but still goes through kde i get an error message along the lines of
Command 'kcmshell clock --embed 39848134 --lang en_US' not found.
or
Command 'kcmshell kcmfontinst --embed 39848451 --lang en_US' not found.
I have no clue how to fix this any help would be greatly appreciated.
and yes i ahve tried reinstalling the packages again and yes i did get them all.
One other thing I can think of is that KDE 3.4 changed your config files in a way that they are no longer understood by KDE 3.3. You might try to "mv ~/.kde ~/.kdeold" in initlevel 3 and restart X,KDE. You'll lose your settings but it's worth a try. You can always revert to the old situation by renaming .kdeold to .kde again.
