Change system time

On my slack 9.1 installation i get the following error message when right clicking the clock and selecting "adjust date & time"

Quote:

Failed to locate a program for configuring the date and time. Perhaps none is installed?
I've googled to no avail for a slack/linux specific fix. Any ideas?

yeah I have the same thing too.

You probally can just change the time in the BIOS and probally. work. I'll give it a shot now. gotta restart anyways. :)

As root you can type "date -s 2121" to set the clock to 12:21 pm. man date for more info.

ewww man date

You can also try a ntp server.

ntpdate ntp0.mcs.anl.gov (for instance)

I don't know your location, but here is a site with some US ones in it: http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/ntp.html

Here is a guide to setting up syncing your clock with a cron job.
