change resolution of terminal permanently

So, I do:

fbset -xres 800 -yres 600 -match

And it works nicely. But I don't want to do that everytime I boot up. I tried adding vga=788 to lilo.conf, but that doesn't appear to have an effect.

So, how can I change the terminal resolution to 800x600?

Write that command in /etc/rc.d/rc.local and make sure this file be executable.
