Change Default Mouse Behaviour on Selection

I am on Slackware 11 kde with kernel 2.6.18

Currently the default behaviour of the mouse is kinda like IRC. Selection copies the selected text to the clipboard and middle click pastes it. How do I change this to be like Windoz?

I don't follow you.

In Windoze you can't get that function.
In Slackware it is provided by the gpm mouse server.

I suppose if you don't like it, you can issue "chmod -x /etc/rc.d/rc.gpm"
as root and it will no longer be executable.

Then issue "/etc/rc.d/rc.gpm stop" and the fun will be over.

That is one of the functions of Linux that I love, that is not
available in Windoze.

I can see how it would.

Do you mean your scroll wheel is physically broken,
or it doesn't scroll in Linux? The latter can be
fixed with a quick edit of /etc/X11/xorg.conf -
the former, who knows.
